Norma Weller's Visit to Rome

On September 17th 2002, Norma Weller visited Rome on a special mission to present her work on the Turin Shroud to the International Research Centre on the Face of Christ, coincidentally arriving at a time of enormous importance concerning a crucial series of fine repairs and restorations in Turin by world textile expert Fleury-Lemburg during June and July on the reputed burial cloth of Jesus-Christ.

The repercussions are of global consequence, as according to American researchers Sue Benford and Joe Marino, invisible mending during the medieval period may have skewed the carbon dating, confirmed as a result of the restoration.

This supports the findings of Norma Weller, and in addition, when her work was presented to Cardinal Angelini at the Vatican and Director of the Research Centre, he was greatly impressed, to the extent of introducing it to Padre Doctor Heinrich Pfeiffer S. J., Professor of Christian Art History at the Pontifical Gregoriana University of Rome and member of the Papal Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church, a great scholar and authority on the Turin Shroud who has confirmed with considerable conviction the importance of this discovery.

The London Times correspondent in Rome, Richard Owen, was equally convinced about the authenticity of the myrtle wreath and has given Norma Weller to understand that these findings will be made known to the public at large in the event of an appropriate opportunity.
